Easy Chocolate Pie

Easy Chocolate Pie
Yield: 4-5
Author: Bhagya Baburaj
Prep time: 15 MinCook time: 35 MinTotal time: 50 Min

Ingredients

  • Hershey's Cocoa Powder - 4 Tbsp
  • Sugar - 1 cup
  • Evaporated milk (5 oz.) - 1 can
  • Heavy cream - 3 Tbsp
  • Butter melted - ¼ cup
  • Eggs (large) - 2 each
  • A dash Salt
  • Frozen Pie Crust (9 inches) - 1 each
  • Powdered sugar (finishing touches – sprinkle on top) - 1 tsp

Instructions

  1. Gather all the ingredients together and preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Mix cocoa powder, salt, and sugar in a bowl. Add evaporated milk, butter, and eggs into the mix until well combined
  3. Pour the mix into the pie crust
  4. Bake for 60-65 minutes or until a thin-set layer is found on top. Don't worry if the pie doesn't feel set in the bottom, the resting time will take care of that.
  5. Let the pie rest for about 2 hours and then sprinkle powdered sugar on top.
  6. Enjoy the chocolatey goodness.

Notes

  • Make sure to sprinkler the powdered sugar only after the pie is cooled.
  • A little gooey in the center is expected – don’t worry; pie is cooked through
  • Tastes better once chilled

I couldn’t stop myself. Look how pretty!

Let the pie rest for about 2 hours and then sprinkle powdered sugar on top (if you like)

You can also whip some cream and layer on top if you like but I didn’t have the patience or the willpower to make some. Here’s a slice of my pie:
